19 – 23 April 2018
Prague, The Golden City

Prague is one of the loveliest cities in Europe and well-deserves its epithets – The Golden City, The City of a Hundred Spires, The Symphony in Stone, etc, etc. A visit to Prague is an historical and rich experience. There are museums with superb paintings, including works by Titian and Durer’s Madonna of the Rosary, and a wide selection of Impressionist and early 20th century works. Splendid palaces and churches celebrate its rich Baroque history, while wonderful pastel-coloured Art Nouveau buildings indicate the city’s development a century ago. There is an Opera House and concerts in the churches most evenings. The Jewish quarter is fascinating and Prague is very much a city for just wandering (over the Charles Bridge, for example) in order to enjoy the atmosphere of  ‘The Jewel in the Bohemian crown’.
